We’re delighted to have been able to send payments of over £3,700.00 each to our two charities – The ABF Soldiers’ Charity and the Royal Marines Charity. Through the generosity of the teams who shoot with us and the “fines” that they pay the 2021/22 season has seen the highest amount collected in the 13 years of since the shoot began.

How to keep warm on a cold shoot day break

The innovative Norwegian candle is just the ticket for keeping warm on a mid-morning break.

The innovative Norwegian candle is just the ticket for keeping warm on a mid-morning break. It burns from the inside out and radiates quite a bit of heat. One word of advice....light it about 20 minutes before you need it or risk being smothered by the smoke!

 Is this really “legal tender”?

One of our visitors kindly left this note as part of a donation to one of our supported charities. We were shocked to see that the Queen’s head is no longer shown on Scottish banknotes and a little research indicated that this hasn’t been the case for years. Rather sad when many Commonwealth countries are still proud to display pictures of our Sovereign on their notes. Maybe Scotland is preparing for Queen Nicola’s “coronation” and until such time has substituted a number of placeholders!

Quite a bit of damage here at Mornacott with the back on one barn completely blown off, part of the roof of another and we have yet to count the full extent of the fallen trees (many of them Ash already on their way out).

Proof that nature still holds the trump card!
